CARDINAL BRADY CHILD SEX ABUSE JESUIT

Cardinal Brady would have us all believe that he is sorry and ashamed by the report of child physical and sexual abuse but why should we believe him?. The Sisters of Charity have said much the same thing. The truth is of course that there is no objective reason why any of these people should even be listened to much less believed. The Sisters of Charity trained hundreds of girls to work in laundries. My wife was one of those girls. While doing this they treated the children of the rich in a very different manner. So did the entire Catholic Church. This was an act of FREE WILL by these people. No one put a gun to their heads. Both of these organisation , along with all the others refused in various degrees to help the enquiry into abuse. This was another act of FREE WILL. The Catholic Church fought long and hard to suppress reports of this kind at every stage. ‘Another act of FREE WILL. So let me repeat myself and say that there is no objective reason to believe these people. None.
The media covered up this abuse for decades and continue to do so. The ISPCC were in the front line of the abuse. The Catholic Church actually carried out the abuse. The state were the ones who facilitated the abuse . And these are the ones who control any debate in the wake of this report. The Bishops and Archbishops of Ireland will not go to jail. The Sisters of Charity who forced my wife to work in a laundry will not go to jail. Nothing will happen. Nothing. But if you or I dare suggest that immigration is not the path this country should be taking we will be condemned as racist. There will be no holding back there. There will be a rush , an indecent rush to condemn……
The media are quick to judge anyone who does not embrace the ideology of the European Corporate State as either stupid or racist and they are just as quick to repel any attack on the child abusing Catholic Church. This is not surprising as we have all seen how quick they were to support Cathal O’Searcaigh. The media are eager to give a voice to the victims but only up to a point. If the victim demands the head of Brady or Stanislaus Kennedy he will be given short shift.
Christian Brothers murdered and raped children. Nuns of the Sisters of Charity murdered and raped children. This is now a matter of record. The Catholic Church has consistently done everything in it’s power to frustrate the victims in their search for justice. This is also a matter of public record. Men who achieve the position of Cardinal or Bishop or Archbishop in the Catholic Church are not fools. They are highly intelligent and as such would of course have been very well aware of the horror going on all around them. Cardinal Brady is a criminal liar but he won’t go to jail.
The Jesuits are already peddling the pro Brady propaganda. No doubt they would also deny that S. Kennedy was involved in spite of the fact that hundreds have made allegations against her. Fergus O’Donoghue S.J. seems to have forgotten that the Pope himself knew what was going on …To suggest that this man knew nothing is to label him a blind incompetent fool but like I say fools are not elected as Cardinals. There is nothing new in the argument O’Donoghue puts forward to protect Brady. We have heard the exact same lies over and over again. This is also well documented. No matter how people try to square the circle the simple fact is that the Nazi argument ( we didn’t know ) just does not wash. It didn’t hold up at the Nurenberg Trials and does not hold up today …..The abuse and the allegations of abuse had been going on for decades. Nazi war criminals claimed they knew nothing and if we must accept Brady’s word then for the sake of consistency and natural justice we must accept the word of the war criminals. There was ,after all , little if any actual proof that people like Albert Speer knew anything. Children were raped and murdered. The dogs in the street knew what the Sisters of Charity were up to. ….The Nazi argument is just not credible no matter how often a Jesuit might shout it out.
Hitler did many good things for Germany but this does not take away from his guilt. Brady may or may not have done good but this does not take away from his guilt. Brady may not have personally murdered anyone but neither did Speer or Hitler for that matter. There are those who claim that even Hitler knew nothing. If the economic and social norms of the 50′s , 60′s and 70′s still prevailed in Ireland today , if the Church still had the iron control it had then these rapes and murders would still be going on. The only reason any of this is in the public domain now is because of economics. If it was not for the fact that many victim now have economic power ( and the political power that goes with it ) none of this would ever have been officially acknowledged …..If the victims were powerless as they were in the past it would all still be going on. Without the threat of court action not a penny in compensation would ever have been paid. This is also a matter of record.
Children were murdered and raped. Lives were destroyed. And the lie of the good Cardinal , Bishop , Archbishop or Mother Superior is still being peddled. And we have heard this argument over and over and over. Bishops and Arch Bishop have blatantly lied and been caught out in their lies yet the lie is still propagated. Brady knew what was going on because the victims had told him. They told him and they told me. The only difference is that I accepted what the victims said and Brady didn’t ( until he had to ). For decade after decade the victims had been screaming to high heaven of what was going on. The allegation had been going on for 50 years. Brady knew. And those who praise him know that he knew. The Jesuit knew also. Fergus O’Donogue knew. He’s an educated man. He can read the papers. He , I’m sure listens to the radio news. He must have been aware of the endless allegations. He is happy to take the word of Cardinal Brady so why did he not accept the word , the constant repeated word of the victims? And why did he join this branch of the Church when he knew what the Church was doing ? He is I’m quite certain aware of the constant allegations made against Stanislaus Kennedy. I have made them along with many others and will continue to do so untill my dying day. When are the Jesuits going to accept the words of Kennedy’s victims? My wife and children were her victims as were many others.
Will the Jesuits and all the rest condemn Stanislaus Kennedy. The victims (her victims ) have spoken out again and again ….Will the Jesuits accept my word, the word of my wife, the word of my daugher ? Over and over the victims of Kennedy have demanded justice……and the response of the Church and State is to call the victims liars. This is also on public record. How much proof is needed. Just how many dead children do you need before you accept the truth ? Why is the word of Brady to be accepted as fact and the word of my wife declared to be a lie ? Why do the Jesuits accept the word of Brady and not accept the word of the hundreds of victims of Kennedy ?
The Church , in which this man prospered , was involved in criminal activity on a mind boggling scale. It was these same criminals who made Brady a cardinal. These same people had more than once tried to imply that the victims of sexual abuse were perhaps not as innocent as they claimed to be….There is no objective reason to accept the word of Cardinal Brady and a host of very good reasons for at least questioning it. But the Jesuit cannot acknowledge the facts because if Brady is a criminal then what of the Jesuits. The Church has never been slow to question the word of the victims. So why is it so fast to accept the allegation by Brady that he knew nothing? Because Brady’s claim of ‘sorrow’ is no more than an allegation. The allegations of a Cardinal it seems are to be accepted at face value but not the allegations of the victims. Fergus O’Donohue has removed ( censored ) all comments I have made from his blog. Comments which I, on behalf of victims left there have been removed. He doesn’t like the truth and is quick to censor it. No doubt he would claim the Brady is entitled to his ‘good name’. All men are not equal in O’Donohue’s eyes. A Cardinals word has value but not the word of the victim. A Cardinal’s word is to be respected but the word of the victim is an ‘allegation’. Cardinal Brady knew what was going on. But Hitler’s was right – if you repeat a lie often enough you can persuade people to believe anything.
The Catholic Church is a powerful organisation ( an empire ) that has perverted the message of Jesus Christ for 2,000 years. In it’s mission to save the poor from sin ( sexual sin for the most part ) it has destroyed the lives of hundreds of millions of men , women and children. After the last great slaughter (the Holocaust ) it was they who did all in their power to facilitate the escape of Adolf Eichmann and the rest of the Nazi murderers. The depravity of this church is without limit. Hitler had a high opinion of the Jesuit Order and claimed to have used the same template to build the Nazi Party. It was the Jesuits who said , “Give me the child and I’ll show you the man”. They understand only too well how power can be used and abused.
Jesuits like O’Donohue and Cardinals such as Brady are responsibe for the abuse just as surely as if they had done the deeds themselves. It could never have happened on the scale it did without their active support. And to continue to support the myth of the Cardinals or Bishops who knew nothing is to ensure that it will happy again.

THE CRUELTY MAN STANISLAUS KENNEDY ISPCC

For decades the ISPCC was involved in the wholesale abuse of children in Ireland. The Cruelty Man was the ISPCC man who decided who would and would not end up in care. He did it for money. He was paid to do it. He’s still doing it today. The ISPCC , The Irish Christian Brothers , the Catholic Church , the Sisters of Charity and the state were all involved in this. Stanislaus Kennedy was also involved. Kennedy not only is not now in jail but has been elevated to the position of Member of the Council of State. In fact no one of any significance has been sent to jail.
The report on abuse in Ireland just published is a sham. It does not name those who are guilty. Not only does the report not mention the names of the guilty but it was in fact edited (censored) by those same guilty people. Victims of this church/state abuse were today locked out of the press conference called to launch the report. The Catholic Church still control the national school system in Ireland. They control much of the services for the homeless and vulnerable in Ireland. None of the abuse was carried on against children. The abuse was carried on against poor children. The church treated the children of the rich and the middle class in quite a different manner.
Anyone who claims that the ISPCC today is a different organisation is missing the point. The ISPCC , the Sisters of Charity , Stanislaus Kennedy , Christian Brothers etc etc would all like to move on …….what they don’t want is for one of their own to go to jail. And none of these people will in fact go to jail. To date not one single person in a senior position in any of these organisations has gone to jail. The report is as I’ve said a sham. We knew all these things before the report. We’ve known all about the business of abuse for years. The ‘dogs in the street’ and all that……
The media has played a large part in all of this. For decades they refused to report the facts. They continue to this day to refuse to report the facts. For years victims of abuse have accused Stanisluas Kennedy and others of being involved but anyone who tries to say this on air is soon shut up. On the other hand a bishop who quite openly perverts the course of justice is treated like an honored and indeed honorable guest on every other talk show. We are told that it’s all quite different now and that there are laws to protect children. But as I have already stated children are not and never have been at risk. It’s poor children who need protection. Give every poor person , child or adult the service of a good barrister and just about all social ills would vanish overnight. It’s as simple as that. It always has been just as simple as that. The ONLY reason that children in care were abused is because they (and their parents) had no power or were perceived as having no power…..Lets be brutally honest here. The rich are not called the beautiful people for nothing and the same applies to their children. A good diet , a healthy self image etc etc can have a dramatic effect on the physical appearance of a person….the beautiful people do indeed often have beautiful children but they don’t get abused by Christian Brothers……..
It’s all about money and power and the poor had neither. That’s what it’s all about. That , and nothing else. It was the poor who today were refused entry to the press conference. It was the poor who were abused. European Human Rights law does not protect the poor. In spite of the obvious fact that the poor are the single biggest minority group in any society there is no provision in law to protect them against discrimination. Discrimination against the poor is historically the oldest and most common form of discrimination. Poor children were abused. Not just in their hundreds but in their thousands. It was the poor and not the middle class who suffered. Children in private catholic schools were not abused. Nuns , Christian Brothers and such people made a deliberate conscious choice to give the middle class or wealthy child the best education possible but they had something else in mind for the child that was poor. They knew what they were doing. They knew only too well. 8 or 10 years in the hands of such people and most girls were fit only for the laundry or the streets and that’s where most ended up. Talk to any young girl selling her body on the streets of Dublin and there is a good chance her mother or grand mother was in the ‘care’ of these people.
At a fundamental level this report changes nothing. The ISPCC refused to hand over information requested by the inquiry. The ISPCC have shown the same contempt for the victims as the Christian Brothers have. They are complicit in the abuse. But they will not go to jail for trying to frustrate the justice system. No , nothing has changed. The abusers are still running the show.
DECLAN GANLEY BLUE SHIRT LIBERTAS

Declan Ganley , the man behind Libertas is a fascist. At least that’s what a lot of folk are saying. Last week on RTE RADIO Dick Roache , the European Affairs minister went ballistic in the course of a tirade in which he and some Green Party candidate ( who’s name I just can’t remember) accused Ganley of every dirty deal under the sun. Ganley was a fascist , his political friends in Europe were racist fascists , there were suggestion of sexual deviancy against someone ( I think ). It was sheer pantomime , like some spoof programmes , satire and all that stuff. But god was it vicious. I could feel the raging hate radiate from my old valve radio. This was , as all the cool dudes might say , heavy , really heavy stuff.
I must confess that I know very little about Declan Ganley but I’ve learned a lot about Dick Roache. Roache is like a lot of our political and business leaders , behind the respectable veneer hides a street fighter. In this present economic climate with the Roaches of this world feeling vulnerable they have no interest in fighting fair. Reasoned debate is not going to rule the day. It’s war and kick them in the privates and kick them hard. For almost 10 years now the race card has been ruthlessly abused in an attempt stifle all political debate , to effectively disenfranchise the most vulnerable in our society ( those who suffer the negative affects of mass immigration ) and it’s been successful. But with the No vote and now the economic down turn for once it’s possible that the middle classes may also begin to feel that same disenfranchisement. The undemocratic re running of the referendum may not produce another No vote but if the economic crisis continues there may yet be a serious changes in attitude of the Irish people over things European in general.
It’s been made crystal clear to me that my vote doesn’t matter. That any concerns about immigration that I might have don’t matter …..that I’m stupid , racist and ignorant. All this in spite of the fact that I was engaged in anti racism
activity before half of my accusers were born. — All this in spite of the fact that I’ve walked out of good paying jobs rather than tolerate racism as apposed to those in the media and elsewhere who have grown rich in an economy built on cheap imported labour. Having banned free speech and then having told the voters they are stupid and must ‘try again’ these agents on the new European Corporate State wish to lecture ME on the dangers of fascism !
By God ……. the gall , the hard neck , the arrogance of these landlords agents , these property developers pimps.
Paddy O’Gorman The Moral Vacuum Mooney RTE

It’s never a good idea to lecture others on morality but when those others use the national airways to abuse the less fortunate in our society then we really have no choice. A new brutality is seeping into the national consciousness and for the most part it goes unchallenged. It’s become normal. It happens slowly bit by bit and many don’t even notice. It creeps up on us. It chips away at our very humanity. Men and women who should know better ……..Pride before a fall…wealth leading to arrogance. A liberal society becoming less liberal by the second. Brutality and intellectual vulgarity feeding off each other.
This afternoon( 22/4/09) on RTE Radio Paddy O’Gorman (speaking on the Mooney Show) declared that the homeless were to blame for being homeless. He said a lot of other things too…that the homeless were all drug addicts , alcoholic and mentally ill….. It was unpleasant listening to say the least. He spoke quietly as a man of some authority might…..when challenged by Mooney he held his ground ….he was sure of his facts ……he might have been an intellectual with that detached air of his. But this reasonable man was wrong in his facts. A display of intellectual vulgarity ….sloppy thinking…enough to impress the new landlord class but not quite enough to stand up to the cold light of day.
O’Gorman is a sort of itinerant nosy-parker. He will walk up to people in a charity shop or dole office and speaking in a somewhat whining social worker tone of voice talk to them as if they were for the most part half wits. It’s entertainment , show business and he, I imagine gets well paid for his trouble. But he doesn’t speak to just anybody. I’ve seen the man in action many time , indeed I’ve stood shoulder to shoulder (literally) with him but he never shoved his microphone in my direction. He studies the crowd , looking in all directions at the same time and then swoops on anyone who seems in any way in awe of him or at least of his microphone. As I say it’s entertainment …..
On the particular programme in question O’Gorman visited some dinner house ( run by Capuchins I think) and spoke to some people who described themselves as being addicted to drugs or alcohol. For some reason or other he jumped to the conclusion that all homeless people are addicts etc. I say he jumped to this conclusion because there is no evidence anywhere to back up this statement. I have been homeless myself in the past on more than one occasion as have some of my family and many of my friends and none of us are drug addicts or drunks. Being homeless is quite different from for example being unemployed. An unemployed person becomes visible to the state as soon as they claim benefit but this does not apply with regard to the homeless. O’Gorman seems to think that all homeless people present themselves at their local penny dinner hall but this is just not true. Why would the homeless want to do this in the first place ? The Government might tell you that they get their statistics from the records of the numbers who present themselves as homeless to Dublin City Council but yet again there is no reason to think that most homeless people actually do present themselves anywhere. When I was homeless I didn’t. Why would I?. O’Gorman repeatedly stated homelessness was not caused by a person not having money. Well , in my case it was purely about having no (or not enough) money. There are no shortage of drug addicted pop stars and the like but few if any ever end up homeless….and why ?……money…The reality is that it’s very easy to become homeless. A request for a rent book from the landlord can be enough to get you pushed out on the street and once on the street it’s not so easy to get a flat even if you can afford it.
Thousands of landlords will just not let a flat or room to anyone they perceive as ‘working class’. I have lived in or near bedsitter land most of my life and have lost count of the number of people who I met who were homeless. I didn’t ask them if they were drug addicts or the like but I’ve no reason to believe that they were. And I don’t recall seeing any of them queing outside the dinner house which I would pass on an almost daily basis.
At one point in the programme a couple of homeless drug addicts praised both the charities and government for the service they were providing for the homeless and O’Gorman simply took what they said on face value. Now if these people had for instance been raised in Catholic Orphanages , if they had been victims of abuse and they implied , as many have , that someone like Stanislaus Kennedy had been implicit in the abuse would he have simply accepted that ? No he would not. He would do what so many have done and told them ” Oh you can’t say that” etc. etc. O’ Gorman is quite happy to slander the less fortune and even give them a voice but they are on a short leash and they know. So they do what people in their position always do , they tell the man what he wants to hear. And they are not stupid , they know the game and know it well…….they have learnt the hard way. If O’Gorman was a serious journalist he would understand all this …..If he had been a fellow homeless drug addict himself he might have heard some very different opinions expressed. The poor have long since learned that charity comes at a cost and a high one at that. We all know that there is no such thing as a free dinner and there is nothing , NOTHING so vicious as a charity worker who is reminded of his prejudices or the fundamental ‘racism’ of his attitude to the poor. Tell any of these kind folk that you don’t like strangers being over familiar with you or that you don’t like being talked down to and you’ve got an enemy for life. O’Gorman would be far better employed if he were to ask some our fine upstanding bishops a few pertinent questions instead of inflicting himself on the less fortunate.
No reasonable person would deny the fact that addiction and poor mental health can contribute to homelessness but to claim that all homeless people fall into this category is pure nonsense. O’Gorman generalises about the homeless and is happy to do so. But his mistake comes from a fundamentally ‘racist’ attitude to those on the bottom of the social ladder. The poor , the less privileged can be , and are , spoken of in a manner that would never be tolerated if they were black or Polish. Substitute the word Blacks or Jewish or Romanians for Poor , Working Class , Homeless etc and most of our journalists would be in jail long since. O’Gorman might claim that he was doing no more than stating a truth but Derek Mooney for one was clearly disturbed by what O’Gorman was saying. Mooney showed great restraint and professionalism not to mention humanity but he couldn’t quite disguise his distaste for what he was hearing. Be it O’Gorman generalising about the homeless or some landlord/home buyer declaring that he/she worked hard to buy their home and now don’t want council tenants within a country mile of it the message is clear. Beggars on horseback. A dirty penny coin looking down on a farthing.
O’Gorman views must not go unchallenged. I have in the past had occasion to criticise Mark O’Halloran for laughing at drug addicts on RTE Radio and just today on the Joe Duffey Show yet more of this kind of thing was to be heard. I was only half listening to Duffy’s programme but at some point they were discussing the problem of anti social behaviour on the Dart. A woman called in and described how she and her husband saw some young woman buying drugs from this fellow. They (the fellow and girl) were ready to get off the train at the station and for some reason or other as soon as the guy got off this woman’s husband prevented the girl from getting off with him. She (the wife) then described how funny it was to see this girl dash off the train at the next station and go running for her drugs. She said the whole thing was very distressing for ‘respectable’ people (like herself) but repeated that the bit about the girl running for her drugs was funny. Duffy himself was not hosting the show but the man standing in for him apparently found nothing wrong with any of this. And this kind of thing is becoming far too common. The O’Hallorans , O’Gormans of this world may not know any better and clearly they don’t but RTE really should.
We see and hear the race card being used on a daily basis to stifle political debate. Anything that might ‘offend’ any group within society is VERBOTER ( regardless of it’s truth or relevance ). Anonymous bureaucrats inform us that we may not say this or that. The last time Europe visited all this on us a man called Hitler was running the show. But you can say what you like about those at the bottom of the social ladder. They no longer matter………….But , in a world where dead bodies are put on display in the local cinema and the popular will of the people (referendum) can be put aside I suppose anything is possible. I’ve said it before , the babarians are no longer at the gate. They’re all in the RTE canteen sipping tea.
Eletronic Voting Machines Scrapped in Ireland

Eletronic voting machines are to be scrapped. The Irish government have decided that the 52 million euros they cost can no longer be afforded. And of course we don’t really need them. If we can get rid of the paper based system and ban pointless referendums it would save even more. Ban the lot I say. Let’s all march into Europe. All power to the European Corporate State. The minister John Gormley is one of the many who told us we got it wrong the last time ( stupid as we all are) and this morning on The Pat Kenny Show one of his Green Party colleagues was saying that anyone who voted for Veritas in the forthcoming referendum was a neo fascist racist.
Queuing for Work / Food in Dublin Londis Ireland

A news report on RTE Radio this morning stated that over 500 people ( a Londis spoksman put the figure at 2,000) queued along Dublin’s fashionable Grafton Street yesterday. Londis is opening a few new shops in Dublin and were holding open interviews. Listening to some of those queuing as they were interviewed one could not but notice the distinctly middle class accents. Queuing has become a way of life for many here even when it comes to getting food to eat.
All of this is a godsend for an amateur blogger like me but it’s also very deceptive. Many of those in the queue might have more than one property bringing in rent for them. Thousands of people who ten years ago would have been classed as the poor working class now have anything up the six or seven properties… But if your one of those who beleive nothing untill you see it with your own eyes then just CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO of the queu.
NIMBYs Speculators and the Homeless.

It seems the the government is to lease 300 new houses or flats to take the homeless out of emergency accommodation. Ireland’s liberal landowning and landlord class are in the meantime making it clear that having worked hard for what they have they don’t want the great unwashed moving in next door to them and bringing down property prices. Had they lived on another continent and at another time they would no doubt have wanted to keep the neighbourhood white….after all things are hard just now…and the little spare cash they have is tied up in property in India and Romania……and various other place where ‘value’ is to be had.
But the real question here is why should the state lease or rent when there are so many unsold (and unsellable ) properties on the market. We are after all paying for many of these properties indirectly as it is by bailing out the banks. And why should the state (us) pay rent (and thereby pay the mortgages ) of private landlords ? Why indeed.
For decades now the state has been happy to abandoned the homeless to the mercies of so called charities (many of which have a history of deviancy and criminality) so why this sudden concern , and why now?. It’s perfectly legal to discriminate against the homeless and always has been. You can incite hatred against this vulnerable group with impunity. The state and government find this all quite acceptable ……so why the concern ?

A few days ago the well known Irish land grabber Pat Kenny did a programme on the new housing initiative whereby council tenants would rent properties on private estates. The reaction from the great Irish public was both predictable and disgusting. ” I worked hard so I could buy a house in a good neighbourhood…etc. etc.” “If these people are allowed to move in next door to me then property prices will drop”. The arguments became more and more racist in tone. And of course , these arguments are nothing new , the same ones were used by British landlords two hundred years ago to keep the lower orders in their place …..
The day before this enlightened debate there had been another one on the Joe Duffy Show on RTE. On that occasion there were talking about the proposed new property tax on houses. This time we had to listen to callers and texters who , having bought up to seven properties were complaining that with this extra expense they would find it hard to get the mortgage payments (rents ) out of their tenants….All the time moaning that they had worked hard for their many properties in spite of the obvious fact that it was the tenant who needed to work had in order to pay the inflated rent he or she is being charged.
The Irish are , for the most part , a right wing reactionary peasant people and there is no better proof of this as when they feel their ‘property’ is threatened. The new Irish man or woman may live in a Docklands apartment but spiritually he/she belongs in the bog. His natural habitat is a field and his one true friend is the hedge that marks out his share of the land..He prides himself on being ‘modern’ and ‘liberal’ but is neither of these ….he is ‘educated’ for the market place and nothing else…..A latter day Patrick Maguire he keeps a keen eye on what’s his and knows how to protect it……
He is , above all , his fathers son …..there’s no free spirit at work here. ‘No questioning of the status quo….. just ‘another brick in the wall’ and lets all keep in line….He keeps an eye on Romania ( the property’s cheap )….Like a vulture he knows that human misery brings opportunity. His mother opened her legs and this ,this is the result…..Unfortunately he’s quite fertile and will in time produce offspring. He supports anal sex but not free speech. Gobbles would have had the measure of him. His mother bought her own (Corporation) house cheap and let it out in flats ( but not to her own class). Students and business people only need apply…..”put a beggar on horseback”…..on and on it goes. ‘A thick necked people’ , yes , yes indeed. Once he might have measured his wealth in cattle. We are after all a service economy and nothing more. And all built on the exploitation of foreign labour. And now that the bad times have come who is prepared to make sacrifices ? Not this lot for sure. They want their home and mortgage protected but they have no intention of doing the same for their tenants….”We worked for what we have”…..We’ve heard it all before and seen it too…..the hungry avaricious look over a neighbour’s field….Once upon a time their only ambition was to have a son join the Christian Brothers.

Irish Economic Crisis. The X Factor Factor.

Now that the Irish economic crisis is beginning to make itself felt our new Irish middle class are intent on showing us what they are made of. And that is of course the same sterling strength of character we see displayed on our television screens weekly on the likes of the X Factor where contestant after contestant inform us ( with great shedding of tears ) that life for them and their children would be meaningless and unbearable without the wealth and fame that comes with winning. Most people are I think repulsed by this distortion of values and the underlying selfishness of it all but for all that it speaks volumes about the society we live in. We now hear much the same waling and gnashing of teeth from this Irish middle class when faced with the prospect of being told to live within their means. Having grown rich on the back of cheap imported labour (with no regard for those who have to pay the real price for this ) and having performed the moral and intellectual gymnastics that go hand in hand with the new ideology of greed they now find themselves having to face a new and harsh reality. The penny may not have dropped yet , indeed the shock of it all , the possibility of having to reach into their own pockets has been such that it has rendered them incapable of even thinking straight. “The noise of the mob is it’s imagination” and these folks have a great imagination. They feel , are convinced in fact , that their relatively modest taxes can actually pay for all the things they have come to take for granted. And this in spite of the million or more euros that we are borrowing daily just to stop the whole show grinding to a permanent halt.
The Irish economy is fundamentally a parasitic one. We produce nothing or next to nothing. Our industry, such as it was , no longer exists. We may talk whatever nonsense we wish about I.T. economics in a pathetic attempt to flatter our distorted egos but deep down inside we know that no one ever started a war over it. Wars are fought for control of steel and shipping lanes , for things of real and true value. There is no inherent value to the nation in home ownership and even less in the ‘buy to let’ market and yet this it is the whole basis of our economy. The easy wealth of landlord-ism is not conducive to Enterprise in spite of what the new bourgeoisie and their media might wish us to believe. The protectionism of a single European currency while beneficial in many ways also has it’s dangers in it’s ability to insulate us to some of life’s realities. Our Enterprise Culture has little to do with real enterprise. Borrowed capital , cheap labour , globalisation and all the rest of it can create great wealth for some but it is a parasitic form of wealth with little if any real substance to it. To blame our situation on the global downturn ignores the fact that we helped to create this downturn in the first place.
Too much credit and a subsequent credit crisis are not the causes of our present problems in spite of what you may hear on the TV. Rather they are a symptom of a much more serious problems inherent within Globalisation itself. Everything has it’s price. Bio fuel production may yet lead to global food wars. Economics devoid of social responsibility. The working class of Kimmage and Crumlin bought their houses cheap and saw the potential. They live well on their rents. Students and business people only ( no unemployed need apply ). “We worked hard for our money “. Did you indeed!. “We worked hard for our money”. But we know what the subtext is here , we understand it well. The landlord and sheriff…….our history is full of it. But they are quick to forget history when there’s money to be made. Their children and grand children don’t play in the street and it not for fear of paedophiles. It’s about class and upward mobility. “We worked hard for our money”. A house ( maybe two or three ), children at university , several holidays abroad each year , a career – a good life by any standards with money in the bank. “But it’s OUR money , and we WORKED for it”…….Like spoiled greedy children they stamp their feet…..”It’s our money ” …..”We worked hard for it all our lives”….The X Factor ……we NEED this wealth , we can’t live without it……It’s OURS….
Him and her. We see them on The Property Show as they talk of their flat in Romania. They are in their late 50′s and no doubt would tell us that they ‘worked hard all their lives’……but the body language says otherwise…..they have done well , really well and have no intention of tightening their belts……….”But , we worked hard all our lives”. They are comfortable with the notion that they deserve all this reward…..The new landlord class…God and the constitution ( no welfare checks accepted )…..they have come a long way and forgotten much (deliberately). And like any common landlord thug the veneer of civilisation will drop in an instance if they feel threatened…..Make no mistake these good people will if necessary kill to protect what’s theirs……..In the meantime they take to the streets to protest. They make much of the tax they paid but didn’t we all pay tax. They want to live at the expense of the public purse regardless of the cost…..they want you and I to subsidise their latter years of good living ( the little tax they paid could never cover that). They take some comfort in the hope that , if things get really bad , their property portfolio will protect them from the worst. They may be right. But they may also be wrong. They are happy that social housing is a thing of the past. If the situation demands it they will be even happy to take welfare cheques for rent . But as dole ques grow and the need for rent allowance increases there will in turn be less and less money to pay for it. How long can any government afford to ignore the economics of buy to rent. Who could have predicted the smoking ban or the deregulating of the taxi service ? Lobbies that seemed to be untouchable , that could make or brake any politician were brought to heel…..and no quarter shown. In the new Corporate Europe nothing is impossible. This new middle class was quick (and happy) to turn it’s back on the trade union movement. They welcomed the ‘free market’ but may yet need protection from it. They will probably vote no to Europe next time round and not from any principled stand but out of fear and greed. This X Factor generation only knows the gospel of self interest and personal gain. Public emotion and shallow values. Atavistic greed and an inbred insecurity. A jealous eye watching a neighbours field.
A venial people. A shallow people. They know the value of money (and property). A four wheel drive and a son or daughter at business school……a minimum wage immigrant to carry out the necessary menial tasks. And a warped psuedo ideology to justify it all……conservatives parading themselves as liberals…..they will be the first to vote for some racist candidate. A pox on them all. And if they are not happy then let them emigrate. After all there are no shortage of immigrants who can fill the gap. Young healthy immigrants who will not be a drain on the economy. So by all means emigrate. Go to your natural environment , your spiritual homeland. Vote for McCainn and low taxes…..and live off your own resources. Join the NRA , get yourself a ’45. Watch the blacks kill themselves in the ghetto from your all white neighbourhood. Isn’t that what the Irish in America have always done ?……A pox and a double pox on the lot of you.
Fiscal rectitude can work in much the same way as a laxative. It can help us flush out anything injurious to the system. Regular healthy bowel movements are essential to our personal well being and this is no less true when it comes to the economy. So let us have one big collective crap. Let’s flush this contaminant down the drain where it belongs…..
Medical Card Protest Dublin

As I walked into the city this morning I joined the crowds as they spilled out of Westland Row railway station on their way to the medical card protest outside Dail Eireann. Apart from the sheer numbers what struck me most was the fact that this was an affluent middle class crowd. And when I eventually got to the protest itself this was really brought home to me. If you didn’t know what was going on you would never have made the mistake of thinking that this might be an unemployment demonstration or something like that. The sense of smugness combined with ill disguised rage was sickening.
So let us be quite clear about this ….This is about greed and has nothing to do with social justice. It’s about a group of quite wealthy people who having “worked hard all their lives and saved a handsome amount of money for the proverbial rainy day ” are determined to hang on to their wealth now that the rainy day has come. Irish people , and the new Irish middle class in paticular are amongst the wealthiest people in the world (and indeed were quick to boast of this wealth up to just a few weeks ago). The fact that we as a nation can no longer afford free medical services for all regardless of wealth is not something that they are interested in or care about. “What we have we hold” and these nice people do indeed have it.
These quite affluent people are not negatively affected by mass immigration or it’s consequences but if they were we know what their reaction would be. They would be the first to shout of “Ireland for the Irish”……and they would not hesitate to demand the wholesale deportation of all immigrants if they thought that would protect their own selfish interests. These people did not take to the streets in solidarity with the homeless or the marginalised….they were probably too busy collecting their rents so they could send their sons and daughters to some good Catholic university while they had yet another holiday in their overseas second home. The rights or wrongs of means testing is not the issue here..
“We worked hard for what we have” Yes and as I have said they most certainly have it. “It’s about the economy stupid “ Yes , it’s about money and has nothing to do with ethics or the greater social good. “You cannot serve two masters…..” ‘Never a truer word. Oh yes and yes indeed , they could have taken to the streets , the whole 15,000 of them for some great cause but chose instead to march to protect their own self interest. Greed , greed and more greed.
Meanwhile the economy slows down ……..( I’ll write of this in the next few days )…..Back in the real world……Property developers close their doors and Irish bank shares drop this very day… yet again.
But for all of this they nevertheless feel reasonably secure. “Sure , didn’t we get into property at the right time and yes prices are down but isn’t property the best investment in the long run ?” I’m alright Jack. ……..
A property owning democracy. We have never had it so good. And we hold what’s ours. They are up in Dublin for the day , but only for the day. ( best not to leave the property unattended )…..They no doubt pride themselves on not being racist but nevertheless are worried about itinerants wandering the land ( and no one to keep an eyes on the property). Degenerates and moral retards. If you ask them how their son or daughter is doing they will tell you about the great job or new house…….it’s all about money. It’s about money and nothing else. And this I suppose makes sense for if they didn’t have the money what would they have ? If they had more of it they would no doubt do a Bono . Oh dear Oh dear.
