Graffiti Kid Bad Boy Denton Ohio.
May 28, 2009

Here is another short bulletin from the City Jail of Denton , Ohio. This young man was arrested for criminal trespass , graffiti pecuniary loss-$500 and (shock horror ) riding a bike on the footpath (fine $215 ) , at least that’s what it says on the Denton Police Department website. His name is Timothy. A few days ago he was a nobody and now he’s famous. Oh yes you had ‘better keep out of Denton it’s obviously a dangerous place to live. I suppose that this kids family must be mortified. All the neighbours have probably told thier kids to keep away from him. He’s on the slippery slope ….next step San Quintin….I wonder if he has a blog , if so he has something to blog about now. A BAD BOY and hardly out of nappies. In the old days he might have gotten a smack on the back of the head and be told to ‘cop on’ and grow up. A frustrated artist perhaps. Personally I blame the parents.
If you had met this man/boy a few months ago and told him that he would soon be famous in his home town and feature in an Irish blog he would have thought you were mad. -you never quite know what’s around the next corner. I wonder did they impound his bike ? He won’t be in a hurry to scribble on walls again that’s for sure. But it does seem a bit extreme of the Denton police to put him up on their site. I would hate to think what they do to really bad boys…..
BOB DYLAN NEW ALBUM THIRD EAR MUSIC
April 30, 2009

Bob Dylan’s new album , Together Through Life , hit the record shops here in Dublin on Saturday. For over a decade now Dylan’s has been producing albums that are, lets face it , just not in the same league as Blood on the Tracks or Blonde on Blonde. As I type this blog post up it’s playing in the background on my record deck and that’s how it should be played , as background music. It’s essentially no different from his previous one which after a couple of years is still in its first pressingn and most of those still sitting on the shelves of Tower Records. It’s no worse than anything he’s done in ten years and no better. The vinyl version comes with a copy of the cd enclosed but at just 30 euros you could find better value for your money.
The Guardian newspaper has what I would consider a fair and balanced review that’s worth reading. Before you part with that 30 euros why not spend it on The Third Ear Band’s latest album , Raga Live. Third Ear used to record on the harvest label in the 60′s and 70′s and this double live album is them at their best. ……If you’ve never heard them then here’s the chance , but don’t bother downloading some 3 minute clip from the WEB, it’s not that kind of music. This is REAL …..This is what used to be known as pot smoking music……And this is strictly record player music ….two beautifull thick black slabs of vinyl….

CATHAL O’SEARCAIGH A FAMILIAR VOICE
April 29, 2009
Now that O’Searcaigh is back in the news I thought some might like to hear /see the man himself.
The body language , tone of voice it’s all too familiar. It sounds much the same as those statements from church leaders telling us that they knew nothing….We’ve seen a hundred Catholic priests and Christian brothers use that same tone…..Fairytales were used in the old days to warn children of dangers …….ironic isn’t it .
….mind you , if it were you or I it would be different….it would be very different.
For further posts on O’Searcaight you’ll find more here.

According to The Times rich list published this Sunday U2′s back catalogue has fallen in value by 70 million pounds while Bono has taken a stake in Elevation Partners , an American venture capital group dealing in Forbs magazine and technology firms. But they are not quite broke as the took 14 million sterling in one day recently just on ticket sales for their forthcoming tour.
YOUTUBE HATETUBE 1:24 SUSAN BOYLE
April 26, 2009
A 16 year old Glasgow girl has (according to The Irish Times) became a hate figure on YouTube as a result of being caught on camera grimacing during the audition of Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent. The girl has become known as the 1:24 girl as she’s caught grimacing exactly 1 minute 24 seconds into the performance. The Youtube clip has , according to the Times ( hard copy ed / newspaper) had 100 million visitors. One Boyle fan said she would like to slap the young girls face. In all the paper said she has had dozens of threatening messages……. Twelve out of 100 million……….dear oh dear oh dear….
By the way , if your looking for a copy of the charity cd that boyle sang on some years back you can pick up a copy on Ebay for anything between 500 and 1000 sterling.
Eletronic Voting Machines Scrapped in Ireland
April 23, 2009
Eletronic voting machines are to be scrapped. The Irish government have decided that the 52 million euros they cost can no longer be afforded. And of course we don’t really need them. If we can get rid of the paper based system and ban pointless referendums it would save even more. Ban the lot I say. Let’s all march into Europe. All power to the European Corporate State. The minister John Gormley is one of the many who told us we got it wrong the last time ( stupid as we all are) and this morning on The Pat Kenny Show one of his Green Party colleagues was saying that anyone who voted for Veritas in the forthcoming referendum was a neo fascist racist.
Woman Has Sex in Car WBBM Internet Radio
April 21, 2009
While listening to Internet radio I came across this story from Chicago about a woman who left her four year old child in a car while she went looking for sex. The story is not important in itself and to be honest I don’t know why it was reported in the first place. WBBM is a serious talk station so I suppose this is offered as a kind of light entertainment. One of the other main stories being run on the station is the one about the Craigslist Killer.
Radio , radio – I heard it on the radio.
Twenty Major Stole My Bike NGI Revisited
April 21, 2009
About six weeks ago Twenty Major stole my bike. I had locked it just at the bottom of Georges Street and had only left it for maybe ten minutes. The lock was still there lying on the ground , he had obviously used some kind of bolt cutters. I didn’t actually see him rob the bike and indeed have never met the man but I still believe it was him. A man who weaves bad language into the very fabric of his blog as he does is capable of just about anything.
But that’s not what I really wanted to write about. When I had my bike I used to call into The National Gallery of Ireland (NGI) once every ten days or so. I would wander about looking at the picture of course but most of the time I spent in the gallery’s bookshop. I’m one of those people who comfort buy. As I’ve said elsewhere , I live on my own and have no friends ( I’m unwanted and unloved ) so comfort buying is one of the few pleasures left to me. I have a small collection now of NGI fridge magnets , stuck of course to my fridge. ‘ Having nothing to do all day I spend a lot of time in my kitchen staring at these magnets while I listen to my old valve radio. If I still had my bike of course I could be out getting some fresh air. Be that as it may the magnets do bring me some little pleasure. I’ve also bought a small wooden puzzle , a jigsaw puzzle that is of a painting by Cranach the Elder ,”Adam and Eve , 1526″.
None of this might strike you as particularly interesting but it’s major league stuff when you live (exists) as I do. And at least I do occasionally visit an art gallery which is more than can probably be said for Twenty Major. And I doubt very much if he’s the sort of man who has a valve radio either. I bought my own valve radio ( in fact two radios ) in Bray market which is just south of Dublin and overlooks the Irish Sea. You really haven’t heard radio if you don’t have a valve operated one. On top of one of these radios I keep my mini collection of Irish Dresden ballerinas.

It’s terrible that you cant leave your bike anywhere in the city now. I thought of buying another one but this is the third in succession that I’ve had stolen and there is a limit to my wallet ( especially with all the comfort buying I do). The moral of this story by the way is that Irish bloggers are not to be trusted. They are , all in all , a bad lot, racists and bike thieves the lot of them. The world would be a better place without them.
So now I have to walk everywhere. I can be seen on a daily basis walking the city streets like some lost soul, head down and hands in pockets and going nowhere….. Unwanted , unloved and ignored….. And who cares ? No one cares.
But I’ve still got my blog. I’ve got my fridge magnets , my jigsaws , NGI coasters and best of all my NGI Mousemat….. Roderic O’Connor’s ” Reclining nude before a mirror“.

Yard Sale Queen God Bless America
April 17, 2009
From time to time I give a mention to the various blogs or web sites that I like and I know that I’ve mention this one before but The Yardsale Queen is one of my favourites. When I’m stressed out or just plain bored this is the one that I check in on. A bit like watching paint dry …….but riveting in its own strange way..
…… and very , VERY American.
Record Store Day 2009
April 17, 2009
This is just by way of a reminder to all collectors of vinyl that Record Store Day is upon us. To be honest I had never heard of this until yesterday …….Be that as it may , the fact is that Record Shops are now thin on the ground at least here in Dublin in spite of the fact that sales of vinyl are on the increase in the States…
As I’ve said this is just a reminder……so go out tomorrow and support your local record store…. And while I’m at it , Road Records is to remain open and they are having a sale just now.
