Peggy’s Leg Grinilla LP Vinyl Album Irish Rare Vinyl
February 18, 2008
Peggy’s Leg , Grinilla a 1970′s piece of rare Irish vinyl is the latest addition to my collection. One of those handful of collectible Irish LP’s that is actually worth the high catalogue price. The UK catalogue price is around £250 but in Ireland it changes hands for up to 600 euros. While your here why not check out my other post on Irish vinyl.

I’M SO JEALOUS! Did you get the lyric sheet with it?

Unfortunatly I didn’t…I’ve had this album in the past and have seen a couple of copies over the years but I’ve never actually seen the lyric sheet…

i got a copy of it from a woman from Derry who was a Beatles fanclub secretary who used to go out with Gibson – no lyric sheet – didn’t realise it was worth so much – think its a great lp

I still have the lp complete with lyric sheet and signed by all four members of the band. I’m living in holland now and just brought the album back from Ireland with me last year, hasn’t been played for years because I also have the cd version.

Oh yes , there’s always some one out there who has something better….if I said I had a first edition of the letters of Saint Paul someone would stand up and say they had a copy signed in the saints blood..
………’not that I’m jealous or anything like that….

It is an honour to have a rare copy of Grinilla, on LP or CD. I am one of Jimmy Gibson’s nieces who appreciated his talent but never truly comprehended the extent. I am now in Australia and can only listen to “Into the nightmare” which was written by my uncle because luckily it is on Youtube.
Unfortunately, Jimmy Gibson passed away a week ago and was laid to rest yesterday in Dublin, buried with his parents.
I hope the memory of Peggy’s leg and their true raw talent will not be forgotten.
