Have you written to Moors Murder Ian Brady? Have you ever thought of writing him a letter? The question is rhetorical. But many people do just that. Over the years I often was tempted to write to him myself but I figured that he has enough people pestering him as it is. Of course those who do write to him do so for what is to them a good reason but it must get tedious for him none the less. Of those that I know of and those who over the years have visited him in prison and hospital it would seem they all are looking for something.
Be it reporters or playwrights they are all after something. And not only that but they all make a point so saying what an evil man he is which begs the question of why they want to have his company or his correspondence in the first place. There are some who write to serial killers  as a hobby or maybe to sell the letters on eBay or something like that. I am not knocking those who do write to him but I find it all a bit odd. I don’t mean those who write to him privately , there are some I’m sure who do so and keep it private as one would normally do with any such correspondence , I mean those who then go on to publish or otherwise advertise or even sell the letters.Â
Below are a few quote’s from him . I wrote a couple of posts about Brady and as a result received some comments and decided to reply by way of a post or entry in my blog but as this turned out to a bit too long for a blog post I have uploaded it to my Pages. If you don’t want to navigate to the page just click HERE.
“[I]t is mostly in the quiescent company of the atheist, the sceptic, the cynic, the nihilist, the existentialist, those self-absorbed who are content to propose and preach nothing, that we may sometimes escape the obsessive demands of synthetic morality and the jarring irritations of theological presumption. They cast aside the ridiculous banality of metaphysical minutiae striving beyond man’s feeble comprehension, and instead opt for that comfortable, sensual silence known chiefly to old friends, lovers and opium addicts, which is so often much more stimulating and inspiring.”( from Oswald Defense Lawyer). ( originally from Gates of Janus).
     That’s it , it’s the messiest yet.
I have accepted the weight of the crimes both Myra and I were convicted of justifies permanent imprisonment regardless of expressed personal remorse and verifiable change.
I reached the stage where , whatever came to mind , get out and do it. I led the life that other people could only think about.
Here is a typical short letter of Brady’s. I’m showing this link as it has been on the Internet for a while now. Also there is no real issue of privacy here. If you wish to read my other posts on Ian Brady , Myra Hindley or the Moors Murders just click on any of these names on the right hand sidebard of my blog. If you wish to see a review of Duncan Staff’s new book on the moors murders just click on his name on the right hand taskbar also.

Ian Brady writes to the media, and to those who sooth his ego as yes they write or listen to such identities.
Why I wrote to Ian Brady is to give him a chance to say he is not at Shiney Brook. He would abhorr the spelling mistake and Myra did not make such errors. So they were not mistakes but deliberate as he knows.
The bog at Saddleworth is like a churned up landfill as so many have dug for a weekends outing over 43years and pestered the police with visions and demands. Some as academically trained do try too and also fail to find the lad. Ian Brady the man who is said to have killed him, buried him and knows where he is contradicts Myra.
His letter above in ‘Gates of Janus’ show a man using the glossary as to how many big words he can get into a sentence instead of HIS own Scottish twang we know he uses. So the above does not apply to me. I want him to say before he looks a bigger arse than he is that he is where John is and in that vicinity.
The reason for that is the photo of the mini-pickup and his affectedness with filth as the quagmire on the three Grains is not condusive to his nature, or predelictions. There is no fine line showing Hoe Grain from the rest. Saving face is why I told his solicitor I wanted him to reply to Yorkshire police, any police or via his solicitor to me as I am the one digging and claiming to do so.
There are psychics, ex-cops and all manner who have dug and are digging who engage with me to join them. Being gifted myself I do not dismiss any one person, some are more sinister than others and engage in enticements to get you to join them which never come off. I have time for many gifted psychics and many ex-police officers. But Ian does not.
Ian Brady will receive any visitor that sooths his ego in the philosophy sciences as diatribe of his making. He will not see a practical scientist as he uses the ‘Countdown’ board to find as many words of longevity in a written sentence. For some reason it makes him feel superior. It is the opposite.
Jargon in the ‘epistemic community’ of which he is not a member is a sign of immaturity.
All science communication is at the level of a layman as addressing the reader with the definition, not the glossary term.
That is how he evades the question of his own insecurity and why he hides the fact he does not know where Keith is. One said of a femur damaged. I would ask Ian if that is valid or not in this victim unfound?

Beyond what I said in Ian Brady:Comments and Discussion I’m not sure what else is left to say. Still, thank you for the comments.

Actually, I did write to Ian once, after I read his book, “The Gates Of Janus”. I have always found him a very intelligent and fascinating person. I was thrilled to receive a written response from him which was extremely polite and well written. I would like to see him write another book. I thoroughly enjoyed his analyses of other serial killers. I would like to see his treatise on the Bernardo-Homolka case as it closely parallels his own.
